Terms of Service

HomeCompass helps people in Kenya find houses and apartments to rent or buy. We provide a website with listings and a WhatsApp assistant that answers questions and suggests homes based on what you tell it. HomeCompass is a search and introduction service — we are not a party to any tenancy, sale or agency agreement you enter into.

You may use HomeCompass for genuine property searches and listings only. You agree not to misuse the service, send abusive or unlawful content, attempt to access other people’s accounts or data, scrape or copy listings in bulk, or interfere with how the service runs. Standard WhatsApp and mobile data charges from your provider may apply. We may suspend or end access where these terms are broken.

• Give accurate information about what you are looking for and about yourself.
• Keep your account details secure if you have a partner account.
• Inspect a property in person and confirm the identity of the landlord or agent before paying any money.
• Never pay a deposit, viewing fee or rent to anyone on the basis of a listing alone. If someone claiming to represent HomeCompass asks you for money, contact us first.

Listings are supplied by agents, landlords and other partners. We carry out our own review and physical verification steps before publishing, but we cannot guarantee that every detail — including price, availability, size, photographs, amenities or ownership — is accurate, complete or current at all times. Listings are information, not offers, and may be changed or removed at any time.

Agents and landlords listed on HomeCompass are independent third parties. Any viewing, negotiation, agreement or payment is strictly between you and them, and we are not responsible for their conduct, fees or agreements. The service also depends on third-party platforms such as WhatsApp and our hosting providers, whose availability we do not control.

Match scores, suggestions and assistant replies are generated automatically, including by AI, from the preferences you provide and the data we hold. They are indicative guidance only, may be incomplete or wrong, and are not professional, legal, financial or valuation advice. Always confirm details independently before making a decision.

Searching for a home on HomeCompass is free for home seekers. Agents and landlords may pay verification and listing fees, which are shown before payment. Fees paid for a service already delivered are generally non-refundable unless we state otherwise.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HomeCompass is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of money, profit, data or opportunity arising from your reliance on a listing, an automated recommendation, a service interruption, or dealings with an agent, landlord or other user. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The HomeCompass name, logo, website design and content are owned by HomeCompass or its licensors and may not be copied or reused without permission. By submitting a listing or media, you confirm you have the right to do so and allow us to display it on the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use HomeCompass after a change means you accept the updated terms.
